A ‘Trans Child’ is a Manipulated Invention of a Modern Evil Age. - Dr. Rosaria Butterfield, former LGBTQ Activist
From testimony into the trenches: Dr. Rosaria Butterfield and the systemic war on truth.
On a late-summer evening in Durham, North Carolina, inside an old government building draped in rainbow flags and pride slogans, a former: lesbian, professor of Critical Theory and Queer Theory, LGBT activist, and feminist philosopher, stood before a school board and told the truth. She spoke boldly, biblically, and with authority, not as an outsider hurling moral grenades, but as a former insider. One woman, who could not be dismissed as a bigot who just doesn’t understand the struggle, stood firm and exposed the lies corrupting the soul of America’s children.
On that night, Dr. Rosaria Butterfield1 spoke not as a moralist, but as one who has tasted the bitter fruit of deception and now warns others to flee. She spoke not to assert herself, but to deliver God’s unfiltered truth.
2,647 years ago, Huldah the prophetess stood before the officials of King Josiah (2 Kings 22:14–20), and delivered a message of judgment and mercy at a pivotal moment in Judah’s history—directly rebuking the leadership for national apostasy, calling a compromised nation back to covenant faithfulness.
In a similar way, Rosaria stands before school boards and church leaders today speaking not with personal outrage, but with prophetic conviction rooted in Scripture. Her voice is a clarion call:
God’s Word is not optional, and repentance is not hate—it is rescue.
Like Huldah, Rosaria does not mince words. She calls deception what it is—"demonic distortion." Never with the clamor of a culture warrior, but as a repentant sinner, a servant of God holding up the true gospel in its full demands: immediate repentance and submission to Christ.
Once a tenured professor of English at Syracuse University, Rosaria Champagne, as she was known then, co-authored domestic partnership policies for same-sex couples, taught feminist philosophy inspired by Freud, Hegel, Marx, and Darwin, and marched at New York Pride rallies. Rosari Champagne was a rising star in the LGBTQ academic world. But in 1999, after years of God drawing her through the patient and loving spiritual hospitality of a local Reformed pastor and his wife, Rosaria repented, left her lesbian identity, and submitted her heart and whole life to Christ.
It was not easy.
In her memoir, The Secret Thoughts of an Unlikely Convert2, she calls it a “train wreck” of grace.
I was fortunate to attend a recent two-day conference for women led by Dr. Butterfield. It was a profoundly edifying experience of doctrine, worship, and unwavering resolve to never coddle the sinner, but to speak hard truths in love—always remembering that the love of God feels harsh and painful when a person is defending deeply entrenched idols.
This article will review Dr. Butterfield's two powerful lectures, but it's much more than that. God's people are called to discern the urgency of the hour and we stand with our sister Rosaria to amplify this urgent dispatch from the front lines of a spiritual and civilizational war.
One of the most arresting truths Rosaria proclaimed was that Eve’s sin did not begin when she bit the fruit—but when she first thought, felt, and desired what God had forbidden. Sin, she said, begins not with the hand but with the heart. Dr. Butterfield admonished every woman in the auditorium with a stunning metaphor, saying that,
“Sin is an embryo that must be killed early through repentance.”
Some might recoil at the imagery, but its severity is appropriate, utterly biblical, and directly supported by James, the brother of Jesus, leader of the first church at Jerusalem, who used the metaphor of conception and birth to describe the origin and life cycle of sin:
“Desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death.” (James 1:15)
The embryo in this metaphor is not innocent—it is demonic in origin, antichrist in nature, and spiritually lethal. It is meant to be memorable.
Butterfield’s straight-shooting teaching stands against a prevalent and particularly insidious lie echoing from many churches today: that
Feelings are not sinful, only actions are.
Many Christians are bending over backward to accommodate unrepentant homosexuals as members and leaders in Christ’s blood bought church. But this is more than a compromise, it is a demonic distortion that contradicts the biblical doctrine of concupiscence—the very real inward corruption of fallen desire. To affirm same-sex attraction as morally neutral is to deny the reality of indwelling sin and short-circuit the call to repentance. Rosaria told the women in attendance,
“Redemption does not erase temptation, but it gives us the Spirit-empowered ability to fight it.”
She added Proverbs 29:25:
“The fear of man lays a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is safe.”
Fear of man and no fear of God is killing the modern church—and betraying the gospel.
To those caught in the grip of homosexuality, transgenderism, or the movements that promote them—and to the families and churches enabling it in the name of love—hear this warning:
Love is not silence in the face of soul-destroying error. True love speaks the truth—especially when it wounds pride or offends sensibilities. To soften the gospel, to obscure the call to repentance in order to avoid discomfort, is not compassion—it is cowardice masquerading as kindness. It is not love to leave a sinner undisturbed in their rebellion; it is hatred with a smile.
“Faithful are the wounds of a friend; profuse are the kisses of an enemy.”
— Proverbs 27:6
With Dr. Butterfield’s testimony as an ice breaking diagnostic, we endeavor to expand on what she has exposed to trace the larger system behind the sorrow.
The Five Lies of Our Age
Dr. Butterfield cut through the noise of queer apologetics and virtue signaling with a shocking statistic on the acceleration of our cultural descent citing a 2024 Gallup poll:
📊 In 2013, only 2.3% of Americans identified as homosexual.
📊 Just a decade later that number had risen to over 21% among Gen Z.3
This is neither progress nor the fruit of organic change—it is the outcome of systemic mind control, educational indoctrination, and spiritual rebellion masquerading as liberation. The normalization of sin is not just permitted, it's promoted, programmed, and praised.
Drawing from her latest book Five Lies of Our Anti-Christian Age4, Butterfield names the core ideological strongholds now masquerading as compassion and progress:
The normalization of homosexuality
The celebration of transgenderism as identity
The feminist recasting of the gospel and gender roles
The replacement of biblical faith with vague spirituality
The dismissal of modesty as oppressive
These aren’t just wrongheaded ideas—they are doctrinal rebellions against the created order of God. They form the philosophical scaffolding for a new religion of the self, enforced through culture, law, and education.
Butterfield explains,
"The gospel is not at war with nature. It matures it."
But our postmodern world has declared that nature itself—male and female—must be abolished to usher in so-called freedom.
What Butterfield Makes Unmistakable:
There is no such thing as a "gay Christian."
There is no such thing as a "trans child."
There is only sin, in need of a Savior—and sinners, in need of repentance.
"Same-sex attraction is not a morally neutral temptation. It is indwelling sin that must be mortified, not managed."
With the clarity of a scholar and motherly urgency, Butterfield outlines the biblical model for repentance: it is not affirmation, it is not tolerance, but Spirit-powered sanctification.
Repentance means naming sin, hating it, turning from it, and loving its opposite.
Like Huldah, one of Rosaria's greatest prophetic attributes is her fearless rebuke and call to the Church,
“The church must repent, not only for adopting the world’s language, but for pretending our enemies are our friends.”
Behind the Rainbow: SEL, STEAM and Systemic Grooming
As a kind-of secular prophetess issuing cultural warnings the church ought to heed, investigative journalist Jennifer Bilek5 has tracked the money, ideology, and psychological pathology driving the LGBTQ+ movement, particularly the “T”.
“This is not about civil rights. This is about control.”
In her research, she exposes how elite fetishists and transhumanist billionaires are using gender ideology as the gateway to synthetic reproduction, hackable human bodies, and programmable identities.
As a non-Christian, Bilek’s findings, nevertheless, map exactly onto Romans chapter one: The lie that men can become women is not just sexual confusion—it is spiritual rebellion that results in confusion and darkened minds increasingly unable to reason clearly. “Liberty, Equality, and Brotherhood,” they cry. But, this is not about freedom, it’s about control of language, biology, fertility, and the future. This is not about equality, it's about erasure of all distinctions and God's created order. And this is not about unity, it's about One-ness where all opposing views and truth claims are sequestered or snuffed out in favor of the scientific religion of progress.
The billionaires funding this deception are not isolated actors. Tim Gill6, a leading LGBTQ philanthropist and founder of the Gill Foundation, joins figures like the Pritzker family7 (Hyatt Hotels) and Martine Rothblatt8 (Sirius/XM) in funneling enormous funding resources into the educational and legal capture of America's institutions, especially elementary and pre-school programs.
Gill has funded legal campaigns to reshape state laws in favor of LGBTQ policy mandates and specifically labored to remove religious liberty laws in many states. Gill also helped integrate gender ideology into school curricula through SEL and STEM initiatives. His stated goal?
To create a world so inhospitable to biblical beliefs that Christians who hold to Scripture are socially—and legally—unwelcome.
In a 2017 Rolling Stone interview, Gill famously declared his intent to “punish the wicked,” referring to those who oppose LGBTQ ideology. A chilling epithet revealing the spiritual nature of this battle: the goal is not tolerance, but total submission.
Dr. Butterfield’s confrontation with the Durham school board was not merely symbolic. It was diagnostic. Her personal testimony put flesh on the institutional machine now grooming children into confusion and rebellion and it's time we name that machine.
SEL: Social Emotional Learning as Spiritual Engineering
Butterfield reminded attendees that there are now over 72 recognized gender pronouns being institutionalized in school policies, corporate trainings, and state laws. This linguistic chaos is not an accident, it’s a symptom of spiritual confusion being enforced as cultural compliance. Remember the darkened minds of Romans 1, and the vanity of vanities from The Preacher.
The ideology that hijacked Dr. Butterfield's classroom at Syracuse is the same ideology now embedded in public schools under the name Social Emotional Learning (SEL). Far from being neutral, SEL is a vehicle for the exact identity lies she renounced:
The elevation of feelings over facts
The sacralization of LGBTQ identities
The weaponization of empathy to silence dissent
CASEL’s9 model of "Transformative SEL" trains children to affirm sexual and gender ideologies before they can define them. It also re-educates parents by coercing them to accept affirmation as the only morally permissible stance.
STEAM: Technocratic Pathways to the Abolition of Man
STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) is often praised as innovation in education. But under the surface, it functions as a convergence point for transhumanism and identity radicalism.
LGBTQ modules are now baked into coding curricula
Gender-fluid characters are embedded into math games
Engineering challenges require “inclusive” design thinking
This is not accidental. Funding from the Pritzker family, Martine Rothblatt, and other transhumanist billionaires ensures that “inclusion” becomes a vehicle for ideological capture. The result: children are conditioned to believe that biology is mutable, identity is self-constructed, and judgement and dissent are hateful.
But here’s the deeper truth: even the billionaires themselves—whether trans, technocratic, or both—are not truly in control. They are being used too. What they believe to be liberation from gender, from nature, and from God’s design is nothing more than captivity to the spirit of the age. The transgender deception is the on-ramp to transhumanism, and the illusion of self-determination is just another lie whispered by the father of lies.
There will be no liberation. There is only bondage masquerading as freedom, bondage to sin, to confusion, and to the belief that God’s law is oppression. Whether they believe in the God of Scripture or not, they are duped by Satan’s oldest promise: “You will be like God.”
The Therapeutic Trap: When Feelings Become Doctrine
Butterfield's rejection of psychological identity frameworks couldn’t be clearer:
"When I was a lesbian, those feelings were real. But they weren’t true."
Her statement demolishes the foundation of today’s therapeutic gospel, which treats internal desires as sacred—a false gospel reinforced by:
DSM-backed school counseling programs
Trauma-informed classrooms that frame moral disagreement as violence
Faith leaders trained in "spiritual bypassing" instead of biblical correction
This is why Butterfield’s work aligns with other wilderness voices like:
Thomas Szasz, who exposed the ideological capture and moral collapse of psychiatry.
And Francis Schaeffer, who warned that society would trade God’s truth for psychological survival.
Mothers of the Resistance
Dr. Butterfield closed both sessions with a call not just for clarity, but for courage. Her rebuke of convenience Christianity was unmistakable:
"Stop asking God to bless the sin you refuse to repent of."
Her encouragement to mothers and grandmothers was equally clear:
the war is at your doorstep. Do not outsource the battle. You are not too late, too weak, or too small.
As she reminded the audience:
“We’re Christian moms and grandmas. And we’ve always been the ones to clean up the mess.”
Let that be true again.
Final Word: The World Jesus Came to Save
When Rosaria Butterfield’s 21-year-old son watched the chaos of that school board meeting, he turned to her and said:
“Mom, this is the world that Jesus came to save.”
Indeed. And He did not come to save it by affirming its delusions, but by dying to redeem its rebels.
Butterfield’s testimony reminds us that no one is beyond grace, but grace does not come without truth. Her story is not an exception. It’s a shining example for what real conversion looks like: a total rejection of self-idolatry and a full embrace of Christ’s Lordship.
Her lectures are required listening for every parent, pastor, and patriot seeking to understand the spiritual warfare cloaked in educational reform, identity politics, and therapeutic selfhood.
Watch them. Share them. But more than anything: live them.
Call to Action:
Watch the full lectures. Repent of fear. Reject the lies. Restore biblical order in your home and community.
Because the system isn’t going to save your children.
But Jesus can. And He will, Lord willing.
Soli Deo Gloria!

Tim Gill is a tech entrepreneur and LGBTQ activist who founded the Gill Foundation, one of the most influential forces behind the LGBTQ legal and educational revolution in the United States. Often working behind the scenes, Gill has poured over $500 million into reshaping the American legal landscape to advance LGBTQ causes. This includes funding lawsuits, supporting political candidates, and backing the redefinition of civil rights law. Gill has also funded educational programs that inject LGBTQ ideology into school systems—especially through SEL and STEM initiatives—aiming to reprogram cultural norms from the inside out. In a 2017 interview with Rolling Stone, Gill notoriously stated that his goal was to “punish the wicked,” referring to those who oppose LGBTQ ideology. His words strip the veil: the objective is not equality, but domination.

The Pritzker family's involvement in early childhood education is significant—particularly through initiatives like the Pritzker Children's Initiative (PCI), and Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker’s preschool programs that unify early childhood services under a new Department of Early Childhood—integrating early childhood education into state policy frameworks. The Pritzker family’s involvement highlights the intersection of private funding and public policy (therefore, ideological and political influence) in early childhood education.
