Can White Men Finally Stop Complaining?
Joanne Lipman’s unhinged anti-male polemic signals the death throes of militant feminism
Joanne Lipman’s article, Can White Men Finally Stop Complaining?, is a prime example of the ideological poison seeping through modern discourse—a blend of historical revisionism, selective outrage, and dehumanizing rhetoric aimed at silencing an entire demographic. The piece is not only factually flawed but morally reprehensible, betraying a profound lack of intellectual and ethical integrity. It attempts to dismiss legitimate grievances, mock suffering, and perpetuate a cultural hostility toward men, particularly white men, all while engaging in the very victimhood it claims to despise. Read Lipman’s screed below (you have to see it to believe it).
Can White Men Finally Stop Complaining?
by Joanne Lipman
We simply must reject this toxic ideology. But we will do so with pure truth rather than reciprocal hostility—we do not want to become THEM! Let’s begin with three significant errors on which Lipman’s premise stands:
A misrepresentation of history and present realities,
A blatant contradiction regarding grievance culture, and
An unbiblical and dehumanizing rejection of God’s design for men and women.
Historical and Cultural Revisionism
Lipman’s article is a textbook case of historical revisionism, reframing economic, political, and social trends through the lens of resentment rather than fact. She attempts to portray white men as perpetual complainers, inventing grievances to cover their own failures. However, this argument collapses under scrutiny.

Men Have Legitimate Grievances
The economic and social challenges faced by men today are not imagined; they are well-documented realities:
Educational Decline: Men have been falling behind in education for decades, with women now earning the majority of college degrees. Male underachievement in schools is a well-known crisis.
Employment Struggles: The shift away from manufacturing and blue-collar jobs devastated working-class men, particularly in the Rust Belt. This is not an issue of white male fragility but of economic transformation leaving men behind.
Suicide and Drug Addiction: The highest suicide rates in the U.S. belong to middle-aged white men. Opioid addiction has ravaged male-dominated industries. To dismiss this suffering as whining is callous and inhumane.
The so-called “angry white man” is not angry because of irrational hatred toward women or minorities. He is angry because he has watched his family, career, and community deteriorate while being told he is the problem.
The Hypocrisy of Victimhood Culture
Lipman claims that white men have embraced a victim mentality, yet her entire article is built upon an unrelenting grievance narrative—except hers is directed at men. She derides men for supposedly blaming others, while simultaneously blaming men for everything from corporate culture to the “scary DEI monster.” The double standard is staggering:
When men voice concerns about economic decline, they are whiners.
When feminists or activists decry systemic oppression, they are courageous.
When men challenge policies that disadvantage them, they are fragile.
When women demand equity, they are empowered.
This is the very hypocrisy Christ condemned in the Pharisees (Matthew 23:4). Lipman does not oppose grievance politics—she weaponizes it against a targeted group while pretending to stand above it.
Moreover, the insinuation that “white men dominate everything” is absurd in light of current realities:
Affirmative action has actively discriminated against white men in education and hiring for decades.
Corporate DEI policies have explicitly favored other demographics in hiring and promotions.
Cultural narratives consistently portray men, particularly white men, as villains, buffoons, or oppressors.
If men dare to speak up about this systemic bias, they are mocked as weak. This is a strategy of gaslighting—denying reality while demanding submission to the approved narrative.
The Dehumanization of Men and the Rejection of Biblical Truth
At its core, Lipman’s argument is not just intellectually dishonest but morally bankrupt. The article is steeped in resentment, mockery, and disdain for an entire demographic of people. As Christians, we must recognize this rhetoric for what it is: dehumanization.
Men Are Not the Problem—Sin Is
The problems in society are not caused by white men, black men, women, or any particular group. The root cause of suffering is sin (Romans 3:23). By casting men as the perpetual villains of history, Lipman not only distorts reality but encourages hatred and division. This is a direct violation of God’s command to love our neighbors (Mark 12:31).
Biblical Manhood is a Gift, Not a Threat Lipman’s disdain for “masculine energy” echoes the broader cultural attack on manhood. Yet Scripture teaches that masculinity, when lived in accordance with God’s design, is not oppressive but sacrificial:
Husbands are to love their wives as Christ loved the Church (Ephesians 5:25).
Men are called to be protectors, providers, and leaders, reflecting the character of God Himself (Genesis 2:15).
Biblical masculinity is not about domination but responsibility.
The decline of male leadership in homes and churches has not led to a utopia—it has led to broken families, fatherless children, and moral confusion. The solution is not less masculinity but restored, redeemed masculinity in Christ.
The Christian Response: Truth and Love
As Christians, we must resist the temptation to respond to such attacks with mere resentment. Instead, we must do what Christ did—expose lies, proclaim truth, and offer grace. Our response should be marked by the following:
Courage in Proclaiming Biblical Truth We must reject the lie that masculinity is toxic and instead uphold God’s design for men and women.
Commitment to Justice We must resist policies and narratives that scapegoat any group while advocating for true justice rooted in God’s moral law.
Grace and Forgiveness While we must refute falsehood, we must also extend grace, knowing that those who promote such narratives are often blinded by their own bitterness and sin.
Reject the Lie, Restore the Truth
Lipman’s article is not a mere opinion piece—it is a symptom of a culture that despises truth and thrives on resentment. It denies the reality of suffering among men, hypocritically engages in the very victimhood it condemns, and perpetuates a deeply unbiblical view of human dignity.
As Christians, we must reject this false narrative, stand firm in defending biblical manhood, and boldly proclaim that the solution to our cultural crisis is not scapegoating but repentance and renewal in Christ. Only in Him can true justice, healing, and reconciliation be found.
“For God is not a God of confusion but of peace.” (1 Corinthians 14:33)
