Killing Me Softly: Dr. Death’s One-Stop Suicide Shop
“The Final Solution for a peaceful, elegant, almost-euphoric journey to eternity.”
SHOCKING: The most recent report by Health Canada reveals that, as of 2022, there have been 44,958 medically assisted suicides since euthanasia was legalized in 2016.1 The death toll has increased significantly each year as MAID (Medical Assistance in Dying) becomes normalized.
Doctors around the world have turned from healing to killing as the “Death Cult” extends its necrotic tentacles through assisted suicide legislation. In the US and Canada, doctors are investing in NCCMAID, the organization that trains doctors in how to “suicide” their patients and promote it. And according to these statistics, they’re really “killing it.”
In addition to Canada, Australia, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland, and a few U.S. states have legalized “medically assisted suicide” and euthanasia. Available data for annual assisted suicides in these countries are:
• The Netherlands: 6,000+ suicides annually.2
• Belgium: Around 2,500 suicides annually (an average of 5 per day).3
• Canada: 10,000+ suicides annually as of 2021.4
• Victoria, Australia: 272 suicides from June 2020 through June 2021.5
In 2018, two Canadian doctors and a bioethicist petitioned to take organs from patients while they were still alive.
Tine Nys, a 38-year-old Belgian woman, was euthanized by lethal injection in 2010 after being diagnosed with autism. However, it was later revealed that the young woman was not autistic but was suffering from major depression following the breakup of a relationship.6
Assisted suicide disproportionately and appallingly affects the vulnerable. Recall the infamous Karl Marx quote, “…for us man himself is mutually of no value.”
Dr. Death’s Creepy Contraption

This grim gadget is the Sarco capsule or the portable “suicide pod.” The developers of this dreadful device declare that it “makes it easy for individuals to end their lives without medical supervision.” Swiss media announced in July that the device would be available for use in Switzerland within a few months. According to Swiss law, this is legally permissible as long as the individual carries out the act themselves.
The cost of using the pod is a mere $20 (the price of one nitrogen canister). Once inside the capsule, the user activates the device by pressing a button. Oxygen is pumped out and replaced with nitrogen effectively suffocating the person inside. Once the person loses consciousness, death occurs within minutes. The capsule is then detached from the pod and serves as a coffin for the occupant.
Developers plan to deploy the capsule in secluded, natural settings on private property. How quaint. Almost lovely, isn't it? But wait, there's more! For couples who want to go out Thelma and Louise-style, a larger model is currently in development.
Rightfully tagged as Dr. Death, the inventor of the suicide pod is Dr. Philip Nitschke, founder of the pro-euthanasia group Exit International. Australian by birth, Nitschke now lives in Amsterdam where policies on purposeful perishing are more permissive.
In 2019, Nitschke said: "The idea of using a machine to have absolute control really has been a long-term interest of mine. So, a person can, with minimal involvement, get into the machine and press a button for a very peaceful, elegant almost-euphoric death."
In our bizarro world, Dr. Nitschke is celebrated as a great humanitarian and was nominated eight times for Australian of the Year. There’s no denying that men’s hearts love darkness (John 3:19).
As if that weren't offensive enough, Dr. Death has also created a video streaming service so that he can watch people kill themselves, ostensibly to get “good information” to “improve the quality of assisted dying.” As of 2019, two Australians had live-streamed their suicides to Dr, Death.7
Captain of a business model that ensures zero return customers, Dr. Death said the pod offers a “more autonomous and accessible” end-of-life experience and will "de-medicalize" death-by-design. Because, what the world really needs right now is a more streamlined suicide! Am I Right?
The Deliverance Machine
Nitschke has been obsessed with facilitating fatalities for at least 30 years. The dark doctor has authored several terrible tracts:
The Peaceful Pill eHandbook — an online guide to various methods of nonviolent self-destruction
Killing Me Softly: Voluntary Euthanasia and the Road to the Peaceful Pill (Penguin, 2005) — with Co-author Dr. Fiona Stewart, which pontificates the possibility of a perfectly peaceful purposeful passing.
Damned If I Do (2013) — Nitschke’s autobiography, which could not be more aptly titled.
The suicide pod is not Dr. Death’s first dastardly device. In the 1990s, Nitschke devised the Deliverance Machine. Australia’s "Rights of the Terminally Ill Act of 1995" allowed Nitschke to earn the dubious distinction of being the first doctor to administer a legal, lethal, voluntary injection to four terminally ill Australians in 1996.
The Deliverance Machine was a computer connected to an IV drip. When the individual pressed a button a lethal dose of barbiturates was administered. Within seconds, the individual would be unconscious and with respiratory function fatally depressed, the person would be braindead in a matter of minutes.
The “Rights of the Terminally Ill Act” was overturned by the Australian federal government in 1997, halting the use of the machine and sparking global debates about the ethics of assisted suicide and euthanasia.
This machine is now on permanent display at the British Science Museum in London. Why? People love macabre.
Preying On The Vulnerable
“Nitschke recently attended a conference in Perth, Australia, where he was updating his followers on suicide methods, regardless of their physical health.” At the conference, Dr. Death was confronted by a young woman named Candice whose 60 year-old father had suffered from depression but had no terminal illness. After receiving advice from Nitschke’s group, her father committed suicide.

The young woman said: “There are young people who have died, people with depression. It’s wrong, it's totally irresponsible, he's a doctor, it's wrong. Apologize for what happened to my father. The information you put out kills people who are not in a rational state of mind to make that decision.”9
Michael Robinson, SPUC Scotland Director of Communications said Nitschke's beliefs and inventions are “beyond depraved” and “exploit vulnerable people by showcasing suicide as if stylish or glamorous."
"The acceleration of assisted suicide and euthanasia across the globe is truly unsettling. Assisted suicide exploits vulnerable people and puts them at risk of unthinkable abuse as we have witnessed countless times across regions that endorse assisted suicide."
Death Cult Tourism
Suicide tourism refers to traveling to countries like Switzerland, where assisted suicide is legal. Organizations like Dignitas and Exit International facilitate this, offering legal guidance and the means to end one's life.
Critics argue that suicide tourism exploits vulnerable individuals and undermines the sanctity of life. There is an obvious issue regarding a lack of international regulations and the potential for abuse. Supporters, however, view suicide tourism as a compassionate option for those who suffer calling it the “right to die with dignity.”
While Switzerland remains the primary destination, other countries like the Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg also allow assisted suicide.
Three Bad Arguments for Euthanasia
Assisted suicide advocates point to polls that seem to suggest the public doesn’t really mind “assisted dying.” Problem is, this a false assumption, because another poll revealed that 42% of the public thought “assisted dying” meant either palliative care or stopping treatment. They did not know that it meant suicide. Advocates for assisted suicide often appeal to several stock arguments to defend their position.
Bad argument #1: "We euthanize our pets, so it’s okay for humans."
Unless you are a Marxist, a human being is not a pet. If human beings are equated with animals, any sort of evil is permissible. Humans, created in the image of God, have inherent dignity that cannot be equated with animals. The image of God is one-of-kind category of being with inherent dignity and rights granted by God that cannot be sold, forfeited, or given away.
Bad argument #2: "It’s acceptable when care becomes a financial strain."
The value of human life is incalculable, and financial burden doesn’t diminish one's humanity. Would advocates also say that the poor have less because they have less resources? “Financial strain” is a measure of quantity. Human life is valued by quality, or the image of God.
Bad argument #3: "It provides autonomy to die in peace."
A peaceful death isn’t guaranteed by drugs or suffocation. Comfort measures in palliative care offer a more ethical way to support those suffering. “Comfort measures” is a term used in palliative care that means improving the quality of one’s life in suffering enabling one to feel peaceful in their final moments. Assisted suicide and euthanasia are not progressive and compassionate, but obsolete and barbaric.
Advocates of assisted suicide and euthanasia claim to have the moral high ground in offering “dignity” and “autonomy.” But, they must reduce human dignity to equality with animals, place monetary value on a person's life, or contend that there are some circumstances where life is not worth living.
What message does the legalization of suicide send to someone who suffers from depression? Even the possibility of assisted suicide could influence someone that major depression is a terminal condition from which they will never recover unless they end their lives. That is the reasoning of demons. Legalizing suicide sends the dangerous an harmful message. None of these arguments successfully capture the moral or ethical high ground.
A Christian View of Suffering
Dealing with difficult end-of-life decisions for our loved ones is a challenging but precious and honorable duty. To be perfectly clear, euthanasia or assisted suicide is deliberately and expeditiously ending a life and overriding God’s sovereignty. This is not the same thing as withdrawing treatment, discontinuing life support (pulling the plug), or providing palliative care for a loved one with a terminal condition, which is in alignment with God’s will and decree (See: Ecclesiastes 3:1-2; Matthew 25:40). The difference is clear: one act thoughtfully allows nature to take its course, while the other willfully and sinfully overrides nature.
Scripture teaches that suffering has a purpose, producing perseverance, character, and hope (James 1:2-4; Romans 5:3-4). The Christian response is to endure suffering faithfully, trusting in God’s plan. God’s grace and mercy surpass any earthly solution, and spiritual growth often comes through enduring hardship.
The Sanctity of Life and Sovereignty of God
Human life, created in God’s image, is sacred and valuable, regardless of its condition (Genesis 1:27). Assisted suicide devalues life and challenges God’s authority over life and death (Deuteronomy 32:39). It reflects a lack of trust in God’s plan and disrupts the spiritual growth that comes through suffering.
As Christians, we must affirm the sanctity of life at all stages, offering love and care that respects both individual dignity and God’s sovereignty. Assisted suicide undermines these principles, leading society down a dangerous, morally questionable path.
Much can be learned through suffering. Pro-euthanasia arguments, perhaps understandably, generally emphasize the avoidance of suffering, even at the cost of one’s life. But this is not a Christian view of suffering.
The world and the devil would have us believe that suffering is a form of evil or the result of weak faith and it should be avoided at all costs. However, God says that when we respond to trials and suffering faithfully, He will empower us to endure and grow us spiritually through a season of refining and character building. No matter how old we are or what problems we may face, God’s grace is more powerful and His mercy more peaceful than any earthly solution.
The Call to Endurance and Hope
The Christian response to suffering is not to flee from it but to endure it faithfully knowing that God’s testing produces spiritual growth, strength, and hope in Christ.
Immense suffering was not unusual for the individuals in Scripture who remained faithful to God’s sovereignty. Job, for example, endured profound loss and physical torment but did not curse God or seek to end his life. The Apostle Paul, who suffered greatly for his faith, wrote,
"For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain" (Philippians 1:21).
Rather than advocating for death as a solution to suffering, Paul’s statement reflects a deep trust in God’s purpose for his life, regardless of the trials he faced.
“Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him." (James 1:12)
Once again, James encourages believers to persevere through trials because God had promised a reward for those who endure.
Assisted suicide, in contrast, short-circuits the process of spiritual growth and character development that can come through enduring hardship.
A society that embraces assisted suicide has wandered onto a slippery slope where the inherent value of every life, regardless of age, comes into question opening up the possibility of a “compassionate” mass genocide similar to the systematic way unborn babies are dispatched in sterile rooms away from view right now.
It is the duty of every Christian to boldly affirm life’s sanctity at every stage and age. Human life is never a burden and it is always a privilege to love our neighbors and family members well through faithful end-of-life care that respects both the dignity of the individual and the sovereignty of God.

As always. Great article. So depressing and just criminal along with everything else. Not surprising sadly.
