Trump Says Christians Are As Extreme As The Radical Left
God's law is snubbed out of the 2024 Republican Party
By Summer Black, President & Director of Armor of Truth
Donald Trump has fully recovered from his heart stopping brush with death. The humility and stoic tone he embodied during the opening remarks of his 2024 RNC acceptance speech have now faded into history.
The sarcastic braggadocious Trump swagger was in full form on Saturday at a campaign rally in Grand Rapids Michigan seven short days after an assassination plot failed in spite of a shorthanded and apparently incompetent Secret Service detail.
During his speech, Trump exhibited the familiar slippery rhetoric of an old school populist who would say whatever it took to grow his following. In one particularly insulting measure of his 90-plus minute pragmatic sermon, Trump makes an effort to woo undecided voters and unhappy Democrats.
Trump strongly disavowed Project 2025 saying it was written by “the severe right” people “who are very very Conservative” and “sort of the opposite of the radical Left.” Just to ensure there was no confusion with his statements, The Donald reiterated, “You have the radical Left and the radical Right” and then summed up the policy plans of 2025 as “seriously extreme.”
WATCH: Trump throws Heritage Fnd. and Christians under the bus.
For weeks, since Biden face planted on live television at the farcical debate-less Presidential Debate in Atlanta, the Left and its mainstream propaganda arm have shrieked incessantly about the infamous Project 2025, to so-called plan to transform America into a fascist dictatorship or an oppressive Handmaid’s Tale-style theocracy or any number of other preposterous distortions of the Heritage Foundation’s 2024 policy plan for Republican officials.
Comments from Kevin Roberts, president of The Heritage Foundation and the chief organizing contributor to Project 2025, have yet to emerge — keep an eye for that on Monday.
But there is no question that Trump’s comments are harshly dismissive and insulting toward Evangelical Christians who really believe God and stand on the unchanging doctrine of the Bible as the first and final word on faith and life in a fallen world.

THE OTHER SIDE IS GOING AROUND TRYING TO MAKE ME SOUND EXTREME.
LIKE AN EXTREMIST. I'M NOT.
I’M A PERSON WITH GREAT COMMON SENSE.
I’M NOT AN EXTREMIST AT ALL. LIKE SOME ON THE RIGHT,
THE SEVERE RIGHT CAME UP WITH THIS PROJECT 2025…
BUT THEY’RE VERY VERY CONSERVATIVE.
SORT OF THE OPPOSITE OF THE RADICAL LEFT.
YOU HAVE THE RADICAL LEFT AND THE RADICAL RIGHT.
…THEN YOU READ SOME OF THESE THINGS AND THEY ARE SERIOUSLY EXTREME.
BUT I DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT IT.
I DON'T WANT TO KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT IT…

2024 Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump campaigned in Grand Rapids, Michigan. “I’m not an extremist at all,” he said, and disavowed Project 2025, saying the authors of the conservative policy proposals were part of the far-right.
Trump’s RNC dismissed God’s law and God’s people. Trump essentially telegraphs that bible believing Christians are as extreme and radical as the radical left. There are other examples of this which are not discussed in this article. You can watch our 2024 RNC YouTube videos for more analysis.
This about face is concerning because it is utterly dismissive of the very core of Trump’s supporters who actually believe in God's law and trusted Donald Trump when he said he would fight them. Likewise, the comments also treat Evangelicals as if they are as unhinged from reality and dangerous as Black Lives Matter or Antifa. This is not good.
Trump and The RNC have abandoned their most important promises to Christians which have been honored by the RNC, if only by lip service, since the 1980s. The decision to play to the middle and feign neutrality on core Christian doctrines by openly tolerating murder and the defilement of the sacred institution of marriage, has cast an ominous pall over Trump’s campaign, especially for those who believe that the eternal consequences for such sins is far more important than popularity.
What Trump said on Saturday, essentially, is that anyone who believes the Bible to be the true inspired, infallible, and fully sufficient word of God is no different in extremeness and danger to America than the radical militant Left. I think it's very important to remain sober about this point. It could signal trouble for us down the road and Christians need to stand firm and call evil evil and good good. We must proclaim Christ boldly. It's our duty. We can't sit idly by as the establishment tries to erase us from the public square. We must not capitulate to the urge to accept anything less than what God has said is true.
More On How Trump Abandoned Christians
Trump and the RNC abandoned their position on abortion policy compromising on a federal ban the abortion (moving after) pill. They also reversed course on God’s sacred institution of marriage, now supporting the Respect for Marriage Act, which allows same-sex, polyamorous, and essentially any “relationship” to be legally recognized as "marriage," including, but not limited to, adults with minors and all 50 states must recognize any “marriage” deemed “legal” from any other state.
As Dostoevsky said, when men reject God, anything is permitted.
Trump did an about face on at least half a dozen other policies related to core Christian doctrines as well. When Trump chose to pragmatically and publicly disavow Project 2025, a policy plan not at all unlike his own Agenda 47, he identified religious liberty and traditional family structures as “extreme.” Worse, Trump classified the contributors to Project 2025, who are all Christians working to recover what the radical Left destroyed and to protect Evangelicals’ voices in the public square, as “severe.” Trumps said Those men were as dangerous as the radical Left.
To be clear, everyone knows that Trump is a populist and pragmatist and that by moving toward the center he is trying to take the wind out of the Left’s charge that he is an extremist. That's politics. And that’s part of the package with Trump. Regardless of who you’d prefer to win the election, many of us would welcome a Trump administration after the utter madness we’ve all experienced since January 21, 2021.
But, that does not mean that we compromise on truth and stop standing for eternal truth. Our duty as citizens is not to applaud every move our guy in the race makes.
Trump most certainly disparaged The Heritage Foundation, its president Kevin Roberts, and every other Christian that supports those policies - which by the way are not extreme, they're fundamental to the survival of the Republic.
No matter how much we might support any candidate, our duty as citizens is to hold all our representatives accountable all the time, especially when they reverse course on campaign promises or deviate from core doctrines, for our good and for the good of the nation. If not us, then who?
Just The Facts
What’s more curious about Trump’s comments is that his own Agenda 47 published on his campaign website is almost identical to Project 2025.
If you’re curious about what’s so extreme about Project 2025 or what was in Trump’s Agenda 47, we’ve got you covered. Below you’ll find a breakdown of the major policies initiatives in Project 2025 and Trump’s own Agenda 47. Directly below is a link to our extensively detailed article that explains and outlines the major policy planning proposals from both parties since 1981 — and many of them have been far more controversial than anything seen in 2024.
About two years before a general election, it is common for both Republicans and Democrats to convene think tanks and policy groups to plan new policies should they win the election. Experts in various fields develop proposals aligning with party values and goals. The policy plans are intended to serve as a template to shape legislative platforms and agendas and prepare the party with actionable plans and detailed proposals to mitigate delays in getting to work immediately upon taking office.
Breakdown of major policy plans in Project 2025
The Heritage Foundation's Project 2025 outlines a comprehensive conservative policy agenda intended to guide the next Republican administration. The initiative is encapsulated in a document titled:
"Mandate for Leadership: The Conservative Promise."
Economy
- Reducing Government Spending: Implementing strict budget controls to reduce federal debt and cut government spending.
- Tax Reform: Proposing tax cuts and simplifications to stimulate economic growth.
Healthcare
- Medicaid Restructuring: Introducing targeted time limits or lifetime caps on Medicaid benefits.
- Reversing Abortion Policies: Removing references to abortion from federal laws and regulations, and restricting federal funding to organizations that provide abortion services.
Education
- Promoting School Choice: Breaking up the Department of Education and enhancing parental rights in education to promote school choice and educational freedom.
- Opposing Critical Race Theory: Ensuring that curricula do not include content related to Critical Race Theory or other politically charged topics.
Immigration and Border Security
- Strengthening Border Security: Restructuring the Department of Homeland Security to streamline immigration processes and enhance border security. In my opinion, they should abolish and dissolve DHS as it is nothing more than an extension of the USA Patriot Act and the chilling of the rights of American citizens since 9-11. However, it says “restructure” and that could be good if DHS would be redirected away from Americans and toward UN-funded invaders.
- Ending Sanctuary Cities: Enforcing laws to prevent sanctuary cities from providing safe havens for undocumented immigrants.
National Security
- Rebuilding Military Strength: Increasing defense spending and focusing on military readiness and modernization — ummm… again, I dunno… we’ve been burned here too many times.
- Addressing Cybersecurity: Enhancing cybersecurity measures to protect against foreign and domestic threats — same.
Energy and Environment
- Energy Independence: Promoting policies to achieve energy independence through increased production of fossil fuels and deregulation.
- Climate Policy Rollbacks: Reversing regulations aimed at combating climate change, emphasizing economic growth over environmental concerns.
Social Policies
- Protecting Religious Liberty: Ensuring that religious freedoms are protected in all aspects of public life.
- Defending Traditional Family Values: Promoting policies that support traditional family structures and values — Amen!
Implementation Strategy
Project 2025 includes a detailed implementation strategy to connect conservative professionals with roles in the new administration, a Presidential Administration Academy to train future political appointees in governmental effectiveness, and 180-Day Playbook to guide the administration's actions in the first six months after taking office, including key regulations and executive orders to be signed immediately — EOs are what got us into this mess. Fire with fire? Unusual times I suppose.
This is not so much a reshaping of the federal government as it is a return to its original form and function. To be sure, these are big changes, but these policies are almost identical to Trump’s own Agenda 47.
Donald Trump’s Agenda 47
https://www.donaldjtrump.com/agenda47
Donald Trump’s Agenda 47 outlines his proposed policies spanning various areas, from economic reforms to immigration and national security.
Economy
Construction of new cities on unused federal land to drive economic growth and innovation. Investment in the manufacturing and development of flying cars as a futuristic transportation solution (sounds funny, but makes as much sense as EVs, eh?). Baby Bonuses: financial incentives to encourage Americans to have children to increase the birth rate and protect American culture. Implementation of tariffs on imports to strengthen American industries.
Immigration
Ending Birthright Citizenship, the practice of granting automatic citizenship to children born in the U.S. to non-citizens in response to the massive invasion funded by Democrats and the United Nations IOM. This one is unlikely given it would require a Constitutional amendment. Perhaps the most controversial policy is the plan to deport illegal immigrants who crossed the border due to the aforementioned treasonous (illegal) immigration debacle and deploying the National Guard to address immigration and crime issues in inner cities where illegals have gone beyond the jurisdiction of Border Patrol.
National Security
Trump also wants the death penalty for those convicted of severe drug and human trafficking offenses. Officially labeling Mexican drug cartels as terrorist organizations to increase enforcement measures against them.
Social and Cultural Issues
Opposing and reversing policies aimed at addressing climate change, such as those related to renewable energy and environmental regulations. That one looks good to me. At this point, we all know that climate change is a fugazi. And Trump wants to strengthen the U.S. military to return it to its previous stature through increased funding, recruitment, and restoring traditional military values. This would do away with all the chatter about drafts and would, hopefully, restore order. However, I am always skeptical when anyone in Washington, D.C. starts building up our military. Speaking of 9-11 and the GWOT, the US Govt’s track record in the last 60 years is highly suspect.
Healthcare and Education
Trump aims to give parents more control over their children’s education by supporting homeschooling, restricting certain content like pornographic transgender literature and drag queen strutting in public schools, as well as banning Critical Race Theory — hard to argue with any of that.
Perhaps one of the greatest ideas I have heard in my adult life is Trump’s plan to abolish and dissolve the Department of Education and return all decision-making powers on education completely back to state and local levels. The Dept. of Education has done nothing good for children ever, to the contrary, it has dumbed America down for generations.
As you can see, these are definitely not run of the mill political policies, but we are not living in normal times. The damage done by the Hegelian alchemists over the last four years must be corrected. But, there is nothing here that could possibly be confused as fascist. The policies are a mix of nationalist, protectionist, and conservative social policies.
Now is a time when Christian's must be praying for our leaders, no matter which party they represent, and we must appeal to God to allow many good men to be placed in positions of authority and to prevent more abuses of power in America.
He makes nations great, and he destroys them; he enlarges nations, and leads them away. Job 12:23
God is in control. No maverick molecule.
Thank you for reading this far. :)

How should Christians respond to Project 2025?
If we are to make America great again, we must first make America good again. We the People, who have benefitted so richly from God’s gracious provision of liberty, must re-commit to governing our lives, homes, communities, cities, and states ourselves.

It was just a matter of time. But we need to continue to pray and remember that GOD raises up leaders and also removes them. He is sovereign over all things.
