One of the most important duties of a leader is the defense of a nation’s economic independence. The Lord warns against the dangers of unchecked ambition for wealth and self-glorification which always lead to downfall. So far this month we’ve published two articles discussing how tariffs can be used as an economic countermeasure against the globalist communistic Agenda for the 21st Century (commonly known as Sustainable Development):
“Why Tariffs Are an Anti-Globalist Strategy: Economic Countermeasures”
“Can Trump’s Tariffs Serve as an Effective Countermeasure Against the Globalist Agenda?”
We also highly recommend this sermon How The Devil Corrupts Through Free Trade by Reverend Matthew Littlefield from his Theology of Evil series. Littlefield mines the wisdom of the Bible’s account of the rise and fall of Tyre, a wealthy and prideful maritime empire and its king, a typological representation of Satan, that thrived through exploitation and idolatry (Ezekiel 27-28).
Littlefield argues for the biblical position against globalism and free trade policies that inevitably weaken national sovereignty by making a nation dependent on external market forces (international supply chains, etc.) and ultimately concentrate power through economic control into the hands of shadowy elites. Our articles expand on this theme by arguing for the proper use of tariffs.
Tariffs, in the positive sense as we argue, are economic or strategic taxes or fees imposed on foreign nations that can regulate or restrain trade to protect or reclaim economic independence and resist the erosion of national wealth. Tariffs, in this sense are a key tool in the fight against globalist economic manipulation.
This article will make the case that “free” (unrestrained) trade between nations is unbiblical and destructive to the God’s moral and social world order.
Free Trade Is Not Biblical
The Bible does not promote unrestricted free trade, which prioritizes profit over morality and destroys family, inheritance, and national sovereignty. Instead, biblical economics emphasize stewardship, justice, and long-term stability—not short-term gains driven by greed and globalist interests.
We must be aware of both ditches; the Bible does not endorse fully deregulated "free markets", or collectivist communism. Both lead to economic enslavement—just in different ways.
All wealth and abundance comes from God (James 1:17) and can be used for good or evil. The pursuit of profit without moral boundaries leads to destruction. One of the devil’s most successful strategies has been to corrupt people and dissolve nations through unrestrained trade. The Bible warns us repeatedly about the dangers of economic excess, and history confirms that civilizations that embrace unrestricted trade often fall into moral and societal collapse.
As Christians, we must recognize that free trade, as promoted today, is a tool of the devil—a way to break down families, exploit the weak, and erode national sovereignty. Instead of being lured by promises of wealth, we must follow God’s economic principles and use our resources for His glory. In a world obsessed with profit, let us be a shining example of biblical stewardship, resisting the schemes of the evil one and building a future based on righteousness rather than greed.
Biblical Principles on Trade, Property & More
The Land is God's, Not to Be Permanently Sold
Leviticus 25:23-24 – “The land shall not be sold permanently, for the land is Mine; for you are strangers and sojourners with Me. And in all the country you possess, you shall grant redemption of the land.”
Land and inheritance were meant to stay within families. Globalist free trade leads to corporations and foreign entities buying up national lands—a direct violation of this principle. Modern land grabs and international real estate control mirror Esau selling his birthright(Genesis 25:29-34).
Just Weights and Measures, No Exploitative Trade
Proverbs 11:1 – “A false balance is an abomination to the Lord, but a just weight is his delight.”
Globalist trade systems allow for financial manipulation, artificial currency inflation, and debt enslavement, all of which violate this law. Mass outsourcing and fiat economies create economic deceit, favoring multinational monopolies.
Debt-Based Economies Lead to Enslavement
Proverbs 22:7 – “The rich rules over the poor, and the borrower is the slave of the lender.”
Both unregulated free trade and communism lead to financial dependency. Free trade hollows out economies by outsourcing labor and manufacturing, while communism forces dependence on the state. Globalism thrives on national debt, just as corporations exploit cheap labor abroad.
Condemnation of Hyper-Consumerism and Global Merchants
Revelation 18:11-13 – The merchants of the earth “weep and mourn” when Babylon falls, as they can no longer trade in fine goods, including human lives.
Globalist capitalism and corporate-controlled free trade function like Babylon’s merchant system, commodifying even people (human trafficking, wage slavery, corporate control).
Communal Living vs. Forced Collectivism Acts 2:44-45 – The early church voluntarily shared goods, but this was not coerced redistribution like communism. Biblical generosity is voluntary and done out of love. Communism demands state-enforced collectivism, which denies biblical property rights (Exodus 20:15 – "You shall not steal").
Biblical Economics Are Neither Globalist Free Trade Nor Communism
Biblical economic systems uphold private property, moral trade, and inheritance protection. Globalist free trade sells out national inheritance and hands control to multinational elites. Communism eliminates inheritance and enforces tyranny. Both lead to slavery—just by different means.
A biblically sound economy protects national inheritance, enforces fair trade, and resists both globalist monopolies and state-controlled wealth redistribution.
Proverbs 13:22 affirms the biblical principle of inheritance and generational wealth—a direct rejection of both globalist free trade and communism.
“A good man leaves an inheritance to his children's children, but the wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous.”
Private Property and Family Wealth Are Biblical
Again, God commands that land and resources be passed down generationally (Leviticus 25:23-24).
Globalism and communism oppose this: Communism abolishes private property ("You will own nothing and be happy" – WEF). Globalism sells out national and family inheritance to corporations and foreign entities.
Unregulated free trade enables foreign monopolies to seize industries and land.
Generational Stability vs. Economic Slavery - The biblical model is familial stability through land, trade, and self-sufficiency. Globalist trade deals create debt-based economies, robbing future generations of wealth. Communism forces dependence on the state, stripping families of economic freedom. Unfettered capitalism without moral restraint encourages short-term profits over long-term family security.
The Sinner’s Wealth Will Be Reclaimed by the Righteous - The globalist elite hoard wealth and resources, but God will ultimately restore rightful inheritance to the righteous. This applies to nations as well:
The forced wealth transfer through globalist schemes will be undone by God's justice.
The Biblical Economic Model
Private property is sacred → Exodus 20:15 (“You shall not steal”).
Trade must be fair and honest → Proverbs 11:1 (just weights and measures).
Inheritance must be protected → Proverbs 13:22.
Debt-based economies lead to enslavement → Proverbs 22:7.
Forced wealth redistribution is theft → Exodus 20:15.
The globalist system whether under free trade monopolies or socialist redistribution is designed to erase inheritance and national wealth.
God’s economic order is the opposite as it ensures that righteous families and nations build generational stability through honest work, protected inheritance, and fair trade.
This explains why globalists hate biblical principles of economics because they protect individuals and nations from becoming slaves to their financial system.
The Economy Must Sustain the Poor, Not Exploit Them
Proverbs 29:7 – “The righteous care about justice for the poor, but the wicked have no such concern.”
Modern globalist trade prioritizes corporate monopolies over small businesses and families. The Bible commands fair economic systems that prevent extreme poverty, not unrestrained markets where the weak are crushed by the strong. God’s economy ensures that local families and communities have a chance to thrive instead of being pushed out by multinational corporations.
Wealth Belongs to God, Not Corporations or the State
Deuteronomy 8:18 – “But remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you the ability to produce wealth.”
Modern trade systems treat wealth as a god, allowing corporations, banks, and globalists to hoard it for power and control. Biblical stewardship means wealth must be used according to scriptural principles, not for exploitation, usury, or hoarding power over others. Neither capitalism nor socialism respect this principle both create economic slavery in different ways.
Trade Must Strengthen Families, Not Split Them Apart
Malachi 4:6 – “He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers.”
Unrestrained trade and economic policies have destroyed the family unit. Offshoring jobs breaks communities and forces mass migration for work. Corporate-driven economies encourage both parents to work, leaving children to be raised by institutions. The push for a two-income household was never about equality it was about economic slavery. Biblical economics are family-centric, ensuring that trade benefits families and communities rather than tearing them apart.
Biblical Trade Is Just and Moral—Globalist Free Trade Is Not
The modern globalist trade system serves elites, not families or nations. The Bible teaches a moral economic order based on fair trade, national sovereignty, and family protection.
Unrestrained free trade leads to loss of land and sovereignty, exploitation of the poor and working class, wealth worship and corporate greed and the destruction of the family unit.
The Bible’s economic model ensures that wealth remains within families, trade is fair, and nations do not become slaves to foreign interests. Globalist free trade is the exact opposite of God's economic order it is a system of economic control designed to enslave nations under technocratic rule.
The Consequences of Unrestrained Trade
Destabilization of Families Free trade encourages migration and separation of families in pursuit of economic gain. Children are often raised by institutions rather than within strong family units. The breakdown of traditional family structures leads to moral and spiritual decline.
Loss of National Sovereignty Nations that prioritize trade over sovereignty often sell key resources to foreign powers. Economic dependency leads to political subjugation. Countries lose control over their industries, agriculture, and even military capabilities.
Exploitation of the Poor Wealthy corporations and elites manipulate free trade to maximize profit while underpaying workers. Small businesses are crushed by monopolies that operate with no ethical boundaries. Workers are viewed as commodities rather than as human beings made in God’s image.
Moral and Cultural Decline Prosperity, when not bound by godly principles, leads to decadence, materialism, and loss of purpose. Societies that prioritize wealth over righteousness see an increase in corruption, gluttony, and immorality. The obsession with economic growth leads to policies that undermine faith, family, and national identity.
God’s Model for Economic Righteousness
The Bible does not endorse communism or unrestricted capitalism. Instead, it establishes a system with moral and economic boundaries:
Inheritance must be protected (Proverbs 13:22). Trade must be ethical and just (Proverbs 11:1). Wealth is to be used for godly purposes, not self-indulgence (1 Timothy 6:17-19). The poor must be cared for, but not through forced wealth redistribution (Galatians 2:10).
God’s system ensures that wealth serves people, not the other way around. Economic activity should strengthen families, communities, and nations not weaken them for the sake of global profits.
Resisting the Devil’s Economic Schemes
Prioritize Family Over Wealth Avoid decisions that fracture your family for economic gain. Focus on building strong, multi-generational households.
Support Local and Ethical Trade Whenever possible, buy from businesses that uphold godly values. Avoid supporting corporations that exploit workers or fund anti-Christian agendas.
Be Wise Stewards of Wealth View money as a tool for righteousness, not as an idol. Use resources to strengthen family, community, and faith.
Resist Globalist Trade Policies Advocate for economic policies that protect national sovereignty and Christian values. Oppose the sale of land, industries, and resources to foreign entities.
Final Thoughts Restated
The devil is a master of deception, and one of his most successful strategies has been corrupting people and nations through unrestrained trade. While wealth can be a blessing, the pursuit of profit without moral boundaries leads to destruction.
Why Tariffs Are an Anti-Globalist Strategy
Trump's tariffs on Canada and Mexico directly challenge the globalist framework outlined in Agenda 21. These globalist plans emphasize regional economic integration, environmental regulations, and the erosion of national sovereignty under the guise of sustainable development.
Can Trump's tariffs serve as an effective countermeasure against the globalist agenda?
This article will explore the exercise of economic warfare.
