NATIONAL EMERGENCY: Trump Will Deploy US Military on American Soil
Mass deportation of illegals requires vigilance and accountability.
President Trump intends to use the US military to facilitate the mass deportation of millions of illegal aliens. This is welcome news for the over 70 million Americans who voted for a reversal of the radical Leftist agenda. But we cannot afford to go back to sleep assuming this operation will run with no problems. The potential for corruption by bad actors or even well-meaning agents is very high in such a large and severe operation. The civil liberties of all Americans and the fundamental rights and dignity of all those involved is paramount, therefore, it is the duty of every citizen to be aware, observant, and hold our leaders accountable to handle this the right way.
Donald Trump Backs 'National Emergency' Plan For Deportations
Trump has said he will enlist full military support to stop trafficking, including a naval blockade, and deploying Special Forces and cyber tools against cartels.
Trump previously said he would "make appropriate use of Special Forces, cyber warfare, and other overt and covert actions to inflict maximum damage on cartel leadership, infrastructure, and operations.
The illegal alien rush over the last several years has been loosely legalized invasion for political gain resulting in a major spike in violent crime. There is no question about that.
“Since Biden took office, over 6.2 million illegal aliens have been encountered at the nation’s borders, and over 2 million of them have been released into the nation’s interior. A considerable number of them have engaged in criminal activities once they settled. […] The true extent of crimes committed by illegal aliens remains unknown because there are also over 1.5 million unaccounted for ‘gotaways’ since Biden’s term began. In 2023 alone, Border Patrol agents encountered thousands of illegal aliens with prior criminal convictions, including assault, rape, and murder. A 2021 Department of Justice report revealed that 64% of federal arrests in 2018 involved noncitizens, despite them comprising only 7% of the population at that time. Texas’ Department of Public Safety maintains a running database of such incidents. Other states should follow suit. Several chilling examples underscore the urgency of the situation.”1
We believe deportation, in this case, is the correct and lawful response. According to Scripture (cf. Romans 13:1-7) deportation is also the biblically supported response. Oklahoma has anticipated Trump’s plan with one of their own.
OKLAHOMA LAUNCHES PILOT DEPORTATION PROGRAM
Gov. Kevin Stitt (R-OK) shared with the Washington Examiner on Friday that he had a plan to expeditiously deport more than 500 convicted illegal immigrants in its prisons as soon as Trump takes office in January 2025.
“We want to be the first state that works with President Trump,” Stitt said in a phone call.
Exactly 526 criminal illegal immigrants are in Oklahoma prisons now at a cost of $36,000 per day to Oklahoma tax payers.
“I don’t know how any Oklahoman would argue with me…I don’t know how the [average] American would think this is not very reasonable.”2
The Use of Military Inside The United States
The use of active US military inside the United States as a tool for domestic policing is antithetical to the Founders intent to preserve civil liberties and keep the military out of civilian affairs.
The Posse Comitatus Act (1878) explicitly restricts the use of the Army and Air Force in civilian law enforcement without express authorization from Congress.
An exception is found in the Insurrection Act, which allows the President to deploy the military to suppress insurrection, rebellion, or domestic violence that hinders the enforcement of laws or endangers constitutional rights. This is where the National Guard becomes a viable option on American soil.
The National Guard has its roots in colonial militias which were formed to defend the autonomy of local governments with citizen-soldiers. The Guard is under control of state Governors and exists to maintain a balance between centralized federal authority and state sovereignty in matters of security and emergency response.
Unlike active-duty military forces, the National Guard is not under federal control unless activated by the President. Once the Guard is federalized, command transfers to the President and the Guard becomes part of the federal military forces under the Department of Defense, and under the Insurrection Act, can assist in domestic crises.
When federalized, the Posse Comitatus Act still applies and the Guard's federal mission must avoid direct involvement in civilian policing unless authorized under specific exceptions, such as the Insurrection Act.
Historical Examples:
In 1957, President Eisenhower federalized the Arkansas National Guard to enforce desegregation at Little Rock Central High School.
In 2005, federalized Guard units were deployed to assist in recovery efforts and to maintain order in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.
Guardsmen have been federalized for every major U.S. conflict, including the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Federalization ensures that the National Guard can meet national security needs while maintaining constitutional and legal boundaries designed to protect state sovereignty and civil liberties.
Trump has also said he will use the 1798 Alien Enemies Act to expedite the removal of known gang or cartel members. The Act derives from presidential war powers and empowers the federal government to act unilaterally in identifying, detaining, deporting, or imposing restrictions on non-citizens (aliens) who are deemed a threat to public safety or national security. Detainees are not guaranteed a trial or hearings. Unlike other Alien and Sedition Acts, it does not target U.S. citizens.
The Alien Enemies Act was passed during a period of fear and political strife, particularly related to the Quasi-War with France (1798-1800). Federalists, led by President John Adams, feared foreign influence and espionage, particularly from French immigrants sympathetic to revolutionary France or hostile to U.S. policies.
The Act was invoked against German nationals living in the United States during World War I.
It was used to detain and restrict Japanese, German, and Italian nationals after the U.S. entered World War II.
The danger here is an obvious potential for executive overreach and violation of principles of due process. Vigilance of American citizens is necessary to hold this administration accountable so that, while our nation's borders are secured, the constitutional rights and dignity of all individuals are kept as the highest priority.
Thinking Biblically
For followers of Christ, it’s mandatory to balance the principles of justice, lawfulness, and compassion as we seek to glorify the Lord with lawful enforcement of deportation.
Respect for the Law
"Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established."
Immigration laws are designed to maintain order within a nation. Romans 13:1-2 emphasizes the need to submit to governing authorities who are established by God whether we see them as good or evil. Respecting these laws is part of fulfilling a Christian’s duty to uphold justice.
National Sovereignty
"From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands."
Acts 17:26 states that God has determined the boundaries of nations which means that all nations have a God-given right to protect their borders and enforce regulations that maintain their integrity.
Fair and Equal Treatment
"The same law applies both to the native-born and to the foreigner residing among you." (Exodus 12:49)
While the Bible emphasizes welcoming the sojourner (Leviticus 19:34), it also underscores the importance of fairness and equality. For those who enter a country unlawfully, ensuring due process and applying the law equally reflects a commitment to justice and order.
Accountability and Responsibility
"Do not move an ancient boundary stone set up by your ancestors."
Proverbs 22:28 warns against disrespecting national boundaries or territorial limits and agreements. Lawful deportation is a nation’s God-given right and duty in enforcing their boundaries when they are unlawfully crossed.
While the Bible encourages love and care for the stranger, it also advocates for order and justice. Christians can support lawful deportation when it upholds these biblical principles, ensuring that the rule of law is balanced with compassion for all involved.
